Vi, O VIVIANO CUEVA VILLARREAL Varsity Lettermen Varsity lettermen for the 1969 Cardinal golf team and the number of 'letters each holds include Michael Dean Mike Allen, 3VLg Jimmy Wayne Jim Bishop, James Pershing Jimmy Singletary, 2VLg Rickey Earle Coerges, Dewain Robert Pancho McNabb, Viviano Cueva Villarreal, 1VL. Lamar Tech golfers encountered a gusty, knife-edged wind on the Broadmoor course in Colorado Springs, Colo., which sent their scores soaring and eliminated them from team competition in the 72nd NCAA Uni- versity Division Golf Tournament. The wind harassed all participants and few managed to par the course. On the first day, Jimmy Singletary led Lamar Tech golfers with a 10-over par 80, followed by Mike Allen with an 843 Jim Bishop, 853 and Rickey Goerges, 87. Team total was 336. Lamar Tech's team score soared to 666 after the second round with Singletary scoring a 79 for a two-day total of 1594 Bishop, 83-1685 Allen, 85-169g and Goerges, 83-170. Failing to make the cut-off score of 157, none of the Cardinal golfers advanced to the finals of the tournament which was won by the University of Houston. JIMMY WAYNE JIM BISHOP S . I,

W0men's Golf and Tennis Teams Two members of the Lamar Tech Women's Golf Team placed in the Texas Commission for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women CTCIAWJ State Golf Tournament held April 25. They are, left to right, Rita Jane Weihe, first place and medalistg Vicki Sue Spoong and Susan Martha Sue Blazer, second place. Mrs. Lois J. Wilson is golf coach. Lamar Tech's Women's Tennis Team won dual matches with the University of Houston, Rice University f2J, San Jacinto Junior College and Lee Junior College. In the Navarro Junior College Tournament, Pam Holder and Margaret Weller won the doubles division. The team of Holder and Weller won the District TCIAW doubles title and reached the semi-finals of the State TCIAW tournament before being defeated. Margaret Weller and Sarah Mc- Kasson won the consolation doubles division of the Lamar Tech Women's Invitational Tennis Tournament. Mem- bers of the team .include Pamela Louise Pam Holder, Margaret Maude Weller, Sarah Jane McKasson, Martha Jane Redd, Cynthia Ann Bourn, Vesta Jean Roberts, Janice Marie Murphy, Teresa Lynn Thompson and Barbara Lea Franklin.
