Jack Martin Named SLC Coach of Year ,lack Martin, head basketball coach at Lamar Tech for 18 years, was named Southland Con- ference Coach of the Year in a poll of SLC coaches and sports information directors. The Cardinals had an impressive 20-4 won-lost record for the year, using the same players who had posted an 8-17 record in 1967-68.
