Tau Beta Sigma Tau Beta Sigma was organized to promote the existence and welfare of college and university bands and to cultivate at large a wholesome respect for band activities and achievements. lt also honors outstanding women in the band through the privilege of membership. Women are chosen for their interest and effort in band music. Other purposes of the group are to stimulate campus leadership, to foster a closer relationship between university and college hands, to provide a pleasant social experience for those engaged in band music, and to create a motivating force in its program.
