Lamar State College of Technology is a state-supported college located in Beaumont in the heart of industrial South- east Texas. The campus is located on a '75-acre tract facing the Beaumont-Port Arthur Highway on the southeastern edge of Beaumont. , The governing power of the fastest growing state supported college in Texas is vested in a board of nine Regents, ap- pointed by the Governor of Texas and approved by the state Senate for terms of six years. The powers of the Regents are extensive, and include the forming of every major policy of the college, administration of finances, and the selection of the college President.
