It is published annually or seniiannually by the PULSE staff. Manuscripts may be submitted by any full or part time Lamar student. The two issues published during the 71959-60 college year were due to the combined efforts of a small group of students headed by James Mellard. Mr. Wray, director of the Baptist Student Union pauses for a moment from his busy schedule. --Li Members of the Executive Council are first row Sue Harper Nancy Wones, Brenda Cascio Lewine Ger- many, Sarah Sims, and Alice Miles. In the second row are W. Storey, Bobby McFarland, Rev. Wray, Loyd Hawthorne, and Tommy Cameron. The Baptist Student Union seeks to conduct and promote a spiritual, cultural, educational, and recreational program tor Baptist youth and any other interested students of Lamar. The Center has been provided by Texas Baptists for the enjoyment of students. Financial support of churches in the immediate area provides a continuing program. The program includes daily devotional services before class each morning, special emphasis weeks featuring off-campus speakers, retreats, and two stu- dent conventions. DEPT
