Lamar Tech is no exception. To replace VVestern Week which died a timely death last year, the Student Association created LT jubilee, a two-week program of co-ordinated activities designed to encompass the interest and participation oF all Lamar students. Among the events were a carnival, a name-hand dance, the Beauty Tea and Les Belles Cardinelles presentation, election of Mr. Scrounge, pie auctions, Varsity-Faculty haskcthall game. a fund raising ear wash, and a Speech Department drama production to name a few. Many hours of hard work were involved in planning, organizing, and carrying out these activities. George Marlcley, Ir.. was general chairman of Lamar Tech's first LT Jubilee. Both he and his committee did a C0lTll'llCI1Cl2llJly fine ioh. The real reason for the success of Jubilee, however, was the enthusiastic support given hy the student body and various campus organizations. The ultimate in an all-campus event has heen met, it seems. with the variety and flexibility offered in the jubilee program. Possibilities For future expansion seem limitless.
