HUBERT OWENS DUFCCIOI' This page sponsored by: BANG One of the most outstanding features of Lamar High School is its band, one of the finest in Southwest Missouri. During the school year it participates in music festivals and is frequently on hand at the football and basketball games to cheer the team on. With the coming of summer its activities do not cease. There are regular practices, Saturday night concerts for the city, and frequent trips out of town to march in parades. To add color to the band, there are the sweater girls and the twirlers, with the driun major leading the entire entourage. The band is one of the largest organizations of the school. There are seventy instrument-playing members, ten sweater girls, and six twirlers plus the drum major, The director of the band, Mr. Hubert Owens, has been at Lamar for nine years and during that time has built our band to its present degree of success. palen clothmq
