PROMISE SHOWN IN ART FIELD The students of Lamar have an excellent opportunity to develop and display their artistic abilities. A full year of crafts and two years of art are offered. For especially talented boys and girls there is an advanced art class. This arts and crafts program includes cartooning, sketching, and painting as well as sculpturing, ceramics, and metal enameling. Adjacent to the art room on the second floor is an exhibit case used exclusively by the art students to demonstrate their work. Often the art department is responsible for the contents of the library's show- case. This year the art and craft classes participated in school activities by making the beautiful scenery for Lamar,s plays and in Red Cross activities by decorating the second floor of Texas Children's Hospital. The art and craft students are preparing their exhibits and arranging the bulletin board for the coming Open House. Gentry, Mr. Calvin B., Jr. Closup, Mrs. Rosamond Grover, Mr. Henry C. Harrell, Mrs. Alice Science Music Social Studies Secretary
