MODERN DANCE ROUTINE PERFECTED Exercise, bodily exertion for the sake of training and improvement. is precisely what the members of this year's girls, physical education classes received. The activities began in the fall with volleyball, modern dancing, speedhall, and soccer. and continued through the winter and spring with basketball, archery. badminton, and soft- ball. In modern dancing a careful study was made of locomotion, focus, level, and floor arrangement. The in- dividual teams were urged to create routines on their own, and, after having sufficient time to develop these, the girls presented the dances to their classes. The department not only stresses physical fitness and ability, but also encourages girls to enjoy lweing with others and participating in athletics.
