MRS, ALICE HARRELL STAFF scholastic records to colleges, to check eligibility for sports, and to rank the Senior class. Mrs. Alice Harrell is Lamar's treasurer and bookkeeper. Clerical work is her specialty. She moved recently from the office she shared with Mrs. Leavell into the center office to help Miss Taylor and Mrs. Ferrell. Lamar's dean, Mrs. Selden Leavell, handles discipline problems. The supervision of girls and of school attendance are her major duties, but she also finds time to manage the book room. Miss Taylor, Mrs. Ferrell, Mrs. Harrell, and Mrs. Leavell are helped by a busy group of office assistants, who collect attendance slips from the rooms each period, take phone calls, and deliver messages. MRS. SELDEN LEAVELL

Just outside the office of Mr. Moyes is Miss Ruth Taylor's desk. Over it and into her hands comes a steady stream of work. Her biggest job is as Mr. Moyes's secretary, but that is only the beginning. After attending to Mr. Moyes's correspondence, Miss Taylor takes care of secretarial work for the teachers, secures substitute teachers, looks after keys and supplies, and supervises the student cashiers in the lunchroom. Across from Miss Taylor sits Mrs. Edith Ferrell, the school's registrar, whose files contain the grades of all Lamar students. Mrs. Ferrell also interviews parents and students about courses, and enrolls new fiygr students. lt is herjob to mail transcripts of W V MRS. EDITH FERRELL
