Wfhether in the 1890's or the l940's, there is always history! They who really know the history are the teachers of this subject here in Lamar. Mrs. Robb points out to the others some spot of interest on the map. Miss Bryan looks anxiously to see just what it is while Miss Eaves and Mrs. Rochefort gaze intently. Miss Wfeinberg turned her back to the camera to get a better look . . . Directing the boys on how to be ncater and more skillful craftsmen is Mr. Carr. With a twinkle in his eye, he takes time out in class to give 'em :i few pointers that lead to smoother lines-in woodwork! Standing fashionnbly is Eddie Jean Adkins, who has her hem straight- ened by Mrs. Sandel, Lamar's popular clothing teacher. Mrs. Longcope confers with jack Read and Bobby Ricks on her newest recipe for sho'ten- ing bread. Boys, that prune whip was divine-thanks to Mrs. L.! . . . Art for art's sake -and so it goes. With a speck of green, a dab of yellow, n bit of blue here, and a swish of red, they industriously go about their work. They can do the most amazing things with those funny little twists given to brush and pencil alike! RECOLLECTIONS TEACHERS What won't they think of next? Now students can sit back and relax while Shakespeareis plays come forth on the Victrola! Miss Gehring and Wookie Sinclair hold an album of Macbeth records to show the pictures to an absorbed class before playing the recordings. Fascinated students watch with anticipation to see just what the out- come is going to be of the formula Mr. Bailey is ucookin' up in the Chemistry Laboratory. Mr. Edwards looks skeptical about the whole thing. Mathematicians Brinton and Porter try to figure out some Way to explain this theorem to their classes. The solution is really as easy as can be. Why, all you have to do is-. Mr. Keding, Lamar's dynamic music director, beats out on the key- board while Mary jo Little, Nina Urqubart, and Patsy Moellering form the admiring audience. He must really be solid from the gleam in Fred Bunde's eye. Miss MacMaster and Martha Hudson display one of the flags to be used on the Pan American Day Pageant to Misses Wilson, Morris, and Pleasants, the usenoritasi' of the school. When those four get together and start rattling out Spanish, it's as cosmopolitan as Mexico City.
