Dreams are the figures and images that occur deep in our subconscience, sometimes while sleeping and other times during the waking hours. Dreaming is a natural part of our everyday life and one that is familiar to both the young and old. Although everyone will not always share the same dreams, each one is just as important as the other. It is not unusual for people to establish their goals in life by the dreams they may have. Here at Lamar High we are continually striving for and witnessing daily dreams that are fast turning into reality. For many of us, the education that we will obtain while learning here will prove to be our magic wand in ... “Making Our Dreams Come True. ” 2

‘DS'DJeAZJON .«S The 1982-83 edition of the Elixir is dedicated to Mrs. Jacadale Beasley, a long time member of the faculty at Lamar High School. Mrs. Beasley was graduated from Peace College in Raleigh, N.C. She has served as a classroom teacher of English and Literature at Lamar and Spaulding High Schools, during which she served as head of a teacher program project. Succeed. Over a course of years she has also served as Yearbook sponsor, Jr. Beta Club sponsor, is an avid sports fan and booster club supporter, Senior sponsor and also the school newspaper sponsor which she presently holds. As members of the Elixir staff we feel Mrs. Beasley is well deserving of this award because of her many deeds of kindness and helpfulness she has demonstrated to us. Through all of this she has become more than just a teacher; she has grown to be a true friend. We will always be thankful for her support and guidance. For this the 1982-83 Elixir is dedicated to you, Mrs. Beasley, with much love and gratefulness.
