MARSHALLS 1981 Every year six Juniors who have attained the highest overall average of quality points during grades nine through twelve serve as marshalls at the graduation ceremony. The chief marshall has maintained the highest quality points average. This is one of the highest honors to receive at LHS and we are as proud of these students as they should be of themselves. The week of November 16 through November JO was National Education Week. On Tuesday of that week the students at Lamar High School were asked to vote for the teacher they felt most deserving to hold the title of Teacher of the Year. This year the students selected Ms. Blanche Thomas, who is both a science teacher and a student council advisor. We would like to congratulate Ms. Thomas for receiving this award and thank her for her many contributions to LHS. LHS Teacher Of The Year Chemistry Teacher Of The Year Ms. Anne Neely, a science teacher at both Lamar and Spaulding High Schools, was given the honor of being named Chemistry Teacher of the Year for South Carolina by the American Chemical Society. Congratulations Ms. Neelyl Mr. Elixir During the summer and part of the school year, Ray Norris spent much of his time selling ads for the Elixir. This hard work is appreciated by all the annual staff members and earns Ray the honor of being named Mr. Elixir.
