As each September dawns, pupils with smiling faces enter Lamar High School. Although each one differs slightly, everyone holds to the style of weejuns, teased hairdos, and shifts. This year, 1963-64, marks another great step towards the goal each of us has set for ourselves—graduation from Lamar. As each year passes, with its different fads, every minute, when used to its utmost, means the achievement of that goal. We try to better ourselves in every way possible—mentally, physically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. Each contribution we make to Lamar High School will mean greater and happier memories later on in life. The 1964 Elixir will help us to always hold greatly the memories made at Lamar High School.

Dedication It was decided by the annual staff this year's Elixir should be dedicated to Mr. Mrs. D. K. Brasington. Although Mrs. Brasington retired last year, she has been our librarian, counselor, and friend. Still we want her to know we love and miss her and we won't forget her. Mr. Brasington, our superintendent, has helped our school and its students for many years. His willing smile, quiet sense of humor, and genuine interest in his students have not gone unnoticed. To Mr. and Mrs. Brasington, in appreciation for their service and love for their students, who also love them, the 1964 Elixir is humbly, respectfully, and proudly dedicated. 8
