Class History look back, we can remem-day in September, 1953, when l st ; arthquake in the form of ht-eyed freshmen hit Lamar High School. The new high school building had just been completed, and we were proud to be the first freshman class to enter it. As a new life was beginning for us, we didn't want to miss any of it. Our homeroom teachers, Mrs. Dark and Mrs. Connor , were very kind and helpful; so we came through with flying colors. ie fall of 1954 arrived, and we found o u r s e 1 v e s sophomores. By this time we had seen all and knew all. At least we thought so until our homeroom teachers, Mr. Ray and Mrs. Whitaker, proved to us that we were not so smart. r‘;t' We remember for we had become juniors, and we rea „ forward to this year---junior class play, our class rings, and the Junior-Senior Banquet! With the help of our homeroom teachers, Mrs. Jove and Mrs. Brasington, a wonderful year passed for us. The fall of 1956 came were seniors. With the help of our sponsors, Mrs. Beasley and Mrs. Brasington, we made this gest and best year of all we had dropped in number students to thirty-three, we much to look forward to Senior play, our Senior tfip, and our Commencement were the most important mile posts along our journey this year. In years to come as we look back over our school days High, we shall remember the happiest and most wonderful our life. We shallVherish them
