61444 Wada ln September of T948 a human earthquake un the form of more than fufty brught green eughth graders each one lust as scared as the other hut Lamar Hugh School The class was so large that ut had to be divided unto two sectuons so ut took almost all that year for us to become acquaunted As all classes wull do ours became smaller as ut rolled unto uts second or more formally the freshman year of hugh school Some had dropped out by now and some had stayed behund un the eughth grade We became well acquaunted un the nunth grade and we really felt that we were a part of Lamar Hugh School Things really began to happen now The lovebug but a few of our members Among them were Frances Wundham Bullue Jean Wundham and Carolyn Hoffman who decuded to quut the class and tue the knot Other thungs happened whuch we wull never forget There were the tumes un Muss Wates Hustory class when luttle squeaks were heard un the muddle of hustory readung Guess what? Wullus vouce was changung We were very happy when our entry un the beauty contest walked off with furst place You know who ut was Floy Rogers of course Then came the tenth grade and unto Mr Macs room we went Thus was really the furst year we could choose our subuects and so thus year we were separated un some of our classes Tom Wundham was elected our class presu There wasnt much excutement thus year but we made plenty among ourselves Members of the class kept droppung out but we gauned one thus year Joe Fogle moved unto the communuty and has been here ever sunce Now we had gotten to be Junuors and we really thought we were ut There were so many thungs to look forward to thus year The Junuor Senuor banquet and Junuor Senuor trup were a few of the thungs We dudnt have but 33 members thus year Greg Elmore had gone back to Charleston and a few had gotten marrued We lost three members durung the year Emma Bell Jackson started the Dall rollung wuth her unexpected elopement after whuch Henry Grady decuded to leave us for work on the farm It seems Shurley Jordan lust couldnt stand us any longer so she got marrued It was sprung and we had the wonderful tume of preparung for .lunuor Senuor banquet and the bug event utself And now another place got a taste of that wonderful Junuor class Washungton' How that cuty shook that moonlut May nught un T952 when the bus load of happy students caught the furst glumpse of Washungton Monument We lust couldnt waut to walk to the top and when we got to the top we couldnt waut to rude to the bottom Those were the days The biggest year of all our senuor year of hugh school We havent funushed ut yet but we have had a taste of ut whuch us enough to assure us that ut wull be wonderful Some of us wull be sorry to see May come and some wull be glad but for most of us we wull hate to see them days gone forever 0 , , .
