'Q With the close of the 1967-68 school year the pages that the old Lamar High School building has offered to history are completed. Since it was built in 1911, Lamar High has seen 3784 students gradu ate, the smallest class being that of 1911 with 18 graduates and the largest that of 1968 with 145. When the doors closed for the final time, the students took with them the knowledge LHS offered, and none will forget . . . 'Tis the sign ofthe true and the brave. A Expression. . Through their efforts and those of Secretary-Treasurer Kyle Peterson and her successor Judy Ply, everyone shared the re- ward of a memorable school year. The last homecoming ceremonies the old building will ever see were considered by many to be among the most impressive. Students also participated in Christmas ac- tivities, dress-up days, twirp week, and other events scheduled by the Student Coun cil. Look through these pages now and recall this, the last year for the grand old 1ady to stand. Kyle and Mickey Kinton, a happy-go-lucky pair of retired jewel thieves, are asked to come out of retirement to help catch a current society robber. Their best friend, George Wooster, the detective, could not catch them though they were the most sought after of sophisticated thieves. There was also a love story, a divorce story, and a hilariously intriguing plot. Many juniors worked on the play including the stage crew of Larry Green, Mike Williams, Chris Colean and Cathy Weimer. Sound effects were done by Rodney Hawk, publicity was handled by Kay Golladay, Xf al Manning, Karen Mounring, Janie Roberts and Marilyn Young. Props were by Kyle Peter- son, Karen Miller, Shaleh Mason, Diane Mourning and Karen Kinter. Lighting by John Findlater, cos- tumes by Mary Bachman, Terri Eisenhauer, Julie Augustine and Donna Howerton. Make-up was done by Linda Reyher, Karen England, Vivian Scranton, Wanda Westhoff and Earleen Barnes. They provided a portion of the Pep Club transportation to out-of-town sports activities which was much appreciated. By pouring their efforts into a pancake day, two successful dances, a pop bottle drive, and a slave sale, the club members helped purchase a ten place weight machine which will be used by the entire athletic department in the future. The team, coached by Larry Bride, won three league games, lost one, and tied one to end up in second place in the Southern Colorado League. Although twelve players were lost through gradu- ation, the prospects for the 1968 team appear good.
