OTCEEWVOT In many ways the year 1963-64 at Lamar High School was the same as in the past with Savage spirit high in the classrooms, clubs, sports, and in all we did, This year also witnessed a big change. For the first time we were now a three-year high school. The effect of this change was felt in various ways. All activities under this new plan ran smoothly from the first day of school. The halls, classes and assemblies were less crowded. Although we recognized the advantages to all, the students felt there was a definite loss in not having a large student body. We missed the fun of initiating the freshmen, and the senior girls always enjoyed their picnic with the fresh- men girls. For us there were many advantages and disadvantages of the new plan, but we were quite sure the freshmen were happy to be in their own new three-year junior high school. This is progress, and the students of Lamar High School are proud to be a part of this progress. It is therefore with great pride that we present to you a record of our new three-year high school in the form of the 1964 CHIEFTAIN.
