FORE CRD This familiar scene shows members of the annual staff first in line to reserve their copies of the CHIEFTAIN, The purpose of this forty-third edition is to record the activities of the five hundred thirty students, who for the past year, embodied the spirit of Lamar High School. The coming years will bring new faces and changes to our school but there shall be this record of the friends we knew, the things we did, and the memories that are still dear to us. We sponsored the first dance of the year, put on the Freshman initiation assembly, were in charge of the Pep Rally sign contest at Homecoming, were represented at the League meeting in October by our officers and a council member, sent two juniors to the State Student Council Meeting inFort Collins in November, held an open meeting during State Student Coun- cil Week, hosted the League meeting in the spring, conducted the spring election, and sponsored the A11- School Picnic in May.
