IN MEMORIAM SENIOR MEMORIES Esther Ruth Ward ln the fall of 1956 our class of 60 entered Lamar High as Freshmen. lt didn't take long for us to adjust to high school life, The Big and Little Sister picnic for the senior and freshman girls was the first event, Then came our initiation, and the ice was broken, Our basketball team went to state and we all shared the glory when they brought home the second place trophy. The following fall the newness of school had worn thin, and we came back ready to settle down and make a niche for ourselves, In the spring we chose our red and gold class rings and looked forward to wearing them as Juniors, The theme of our Junior year was work, work, work - magazine sales, concessions, our play Anne of Green Gables, and our prom Ne ptune's Gardens ke pt us more than busy, School spirit was high during our Senior year. Football season was climaxed by our semi-final game at Littleton, Our Senior play Nuts in May was really outstanding, Mardi Gras was the theme of the prom - the Juniors did a terrific job and the Seniors agreed it was next to perfect, The traditional Senior trip to Star Ranch was something we will never forget, It was our last time to be together and we made the most of it, With mixed feelings we reached the end of our high school days, We proudly wore our black and white caps and gowns for Baccalaureate and Commencement, Our class motto, We have opened the door, the world lies before us, appropriately expressed our thoughts as we marched up through the audience and bid goodbye to Lamar High School, CLASS OFFICERS PRESIDENT ,,,, Roger Baker VICE PRESIDENT ..... Don Butler SECRETARY ....... . Janice Hollifield TREASURER. . . . . . .. Gerry Brase
