The members of FFA Work on projects for use at home and on the farm. They also travel each year to different places for judging contests on livestock and insects. State fair is attended every other year by the FFA members. YFIEENQ Managing the concession stand, adopting a Korean orphan, and holding a clothing drive for needy Americans were a few functions of L. H. S. Y-Teens. The busy year was highlighted by a November dance, a spring tea as guests of La.kin's Federated Women's Clubs, and a May installation. Officers for '66-'67 were Mary Reed, Pres- ident5 Karen Ward, Vice-President3 Cynthia Edwards, Secretary-Treasurerg and Catherine Joiner, Stuco Repre- sentative. Mrs. Charlotte Mueller and Mrs. Shirley McCormack sponsored the group. 10

The student council is composed of the duly elected representatives of each class and organization. They are the students' voice in school government. They also arrange the home- coming festivities for football and basketball and sponsor the dances afterwards. The officers of Student Council are: Wes Oakley, Presidentg Randy LeBeau, Vice Presidentg Carol Simshauser, Secretary-Treasurerg Mr. Kreh- biel, Sponsor. PEP Pictured above are the Spurs led by officers on FRONT ROW left to right: Viv Fletcher, Presidentg Nikki Ern- erson, Vice President 5 Pam Wright, Student Council Representative 5 and Linda Waechter, Secretary-Treasurer. The 67 girls above had an active year in '67, starting out the year by changing the club 's name from Purple Hustlers to Spurs which stands for: S-Spirit, P-Pep, U-Unity, R-Reputation, and S-Sportsmanship. The pep club followed the cheerleaders and supported the football and basketball teams both here and away. Other duties were to decorate the royal courts for the Homecoming ceremonies. To climax the active year the girls held a swing- ing party in February. Spurs sponsor is Miss Ruth Henning. 11
