The feature stories often provide interesting sidelights on life in Lakewood High, and the editorials are outspoken discussions of school issues. This year the paper changed its format to that of a news magazine so that it can pro- vide more in depth stories. This marks the fourth successive year in which the Pine Needle has altered its style in its constant search for new and better ways of putting out the school paper. 82 Editors Frann Axelrad, Gilda Karu, Sherry Scheinberg, Judi Werden Feld. and Karen Wishnick prepare a new issue. German Club The purpose of the German Club is to gain interest and knowl- edge concerning the culture, customs, and lands of the German speaking people. Various club activities include outings, picnics, parties, dinners, plays and films. The club maintains a scholar- ship fund for students who might otherwise not be able to par- ticipate in club activities.
