Mrs. Anderson Reading Room Assistant The sophomore English program teaches the basic fundamentals and rules of grammar. Through reading and discussion the students are prepared for their junior year. The course is designed to bridge the elementary knowledge with the advanced program of high school. HE LAY9 THE FOUNDATION OF TOMORROW Seniors take English either to prepare themselves for college or to obtain a firm background for applying English usage to everyday life. The College Prep student concentrates on the reading, analysis, and classroom discussion of long works, with emphasis the student's skill in practical English. . SOCIAL The major goal of the history department is to prepare students for citizenship in the twentieth century. The various courses develop attitudes of perspective, tolerance, historical awareness, historical curiosity, and world consciousness. The world history course provides an insight into national government institutions and peoples' cultures. The American history course presents material concerning the relationship between America's past, present, and future.
