Create A Masterpiece In 1983-84, Lakewood High School was the home of 2,506 individuals who expressed their creative talents in myriad forms. Some expressed themselves eloquently in words, written or spoken, in the classroom or on the stage. Fleeting im ressions were captured through the eye of the camera or gy the hand of the artist. The sounds of Lancer life were harmonized by the various musical groups and vocalists. Dancers and athletes strove to express their talents in per- formances and in com etition. The culinary arts were per- fected by creative cheIfJs and appreciated by all who sam- pled their concoctions. These varied efforts combined to meet the same endg they made LHS a dynamic and interest- ing place to be. 1. The MADRICALS, under the expert guidance of MR. CLEMENS, ascended the steps to excellence. 2. AMY PINKERTONshows off her artistic talent by sketching MARIO BRESNAHAN in her drawing and painting class. 3. A quick and delicious breakfast is whipped together by MIKE BROWN, CHRIS CHENARIDES and MIKE OLIVERIO. 4. The DRUMMERS look especially sharp in their new tuxedos as they perform during half-time. 5. Advanced dancers TAMMY BUMGARNER, KATHY WALSH and LESLIE FORD form a centerpiece during rehearsals for the spring dance concert. 6. Make the Investment Any good investment pays a handsome return: the years spent at Lakewood High School were no exception. They were an investment in the future. Lancers pre ared themselves by accepting the challenges of acadnemic classes, such as advanced placement history, which would afford them the op ortunity to save time and money in college. Leaders of tfie many student organizations on cam- pus gained experience in lanning, or anizing, managing and working toward the acliievement 0? common goals and ideals. Courses such as computer programming and draft- ing provided the opportunity to gain practical, marketable skil s. The wise investment of time and effort paid big dividends. 1. MR. MEDNICK leads his advanced placement history class to intellec- tual victory. 2. The CABINET was often found to be the hardest working group on campus. 3. The LANCE STAFF takes time out from its arduous uties to pose for the photographer. 4. Under MR. FLYNN'S direction, TODD BRUNINC, IAMIE BARCUS and SUSIE IACKSON learn the basics of computer programming. 5. ROTC presents a colorful display of the flags at the Milk Bowl. 6. MRS.
