Reach Out Lakewood High School has always been a place where people count. The administration and staff maintained a policy of being accessible, open to suggestions and promot- ing new ideas. Students were especially aware of the ne- cessit to reach out to help a fellow student, a neighbor or a friencff The idea that two heads or hands were better than one promoted working together at every level of the school. Whether it was an individual or a group effort, all Lancers reached out in a caring and sharing way. Lakewood High School was the place where people made the difference. 1. MR. BRASSER registers disbelief as he attempts to balance class sizes. 2. KRISTIN WEATHERMON and DEANNA VINCELLO are really tied up on the office PBX. 3. The PTA drive was a major success for MR. LYMAN and MRS. OTTO. 4. MR. HAMILTON cruises the campus on his easy rider bicycle and in his latest chopper outfit. 5. MR. HOWEY explains the intricacies of the Varitype machine to PHAL TUY and IIEIEN HSIAO. 6. MRS. KARCHER shows STEVE CASTRO the basics of scooping pop- corn. 7. Nobody Does It Better Big Red Pride is legendary. It was evident everywhere at LHS - in its traditions, its events, its style. Performing groups, such as the LHS band, rifle squad and pepsters, elped keep the Lancer traditions alive and going strong. The annual pancake breakfast held by the Booster Club was a huge success. The newest symbol of Big Red Country was the exciting addition of a new scoreboard for the stadium. In a time when many schools complained of apathy or disinterest, LHS students banded together to prove that nobody does it better than the Lakewood Lancers. 1. A noon rally is started with a bang by the RIFLE SQUAD. 2. VARSITY CHEER performs its rendition of WAIL . 3. Drum Major ALLEN SCI-IWARZBACH directs the multi-talented LANCER BAND. 4. The mighty LANCER encoura es the spirits of LISA EDWARDS and DIANE DRAKE. 5. SONG is artfuiy animated as it does an exquisite routine. 6. The new stadium scoreboard registed the tallies for an undefeated football season. 7. The Booster Club's sportschair provides a comfortable seat for MRS. HANSEN. 8. Graduation, the culmination of twelve years of diligent studying, is anxiously awaited by ROBIN RIBAYA and TED MALLEY. 3 12 Nobody Does It Better
