9 r Under Judy DeLozier's, capable, guiding hand, Lakewood had a very succesful Spring semester. She headed numerous activities which included the inaguration of the Hall of Fame, the American Field Service Drive and the inter-club council. Judy lent to the ofhce of student body president a touch of glamor and feminity seldom found in most politi- cal oflices of this nature. She also gave of her talents to the Girls' League by holding the office of Girls' League president during the fall semester. She was also active in a number of other groups, including Lancerettes, F. T. A. president, Ceres member, T YS C trea- screr and a member of N. H.S. and C. S. F. A recipient of the coveted Jeweled Judy was also a representative to Girls' State and received the 1959 D. A. R. award. Miss DeLozier is an outstanding scholar as well as a school leader, she plans to attend the University of California at Berkley, where she will maior in business administration. DAVE CARVER 1959 Fall Semester Student Body President Dave Carver, possesing fine leader- ship ability, performed an outstanding job of fullfilling the duties of student body president for the fall semester. Aside from the usual responsibilities of the presidency, he conducted assembl- ies and was called upon many times to represent the school in contact with the general public. Dave also began the idea of a Hall of Fame, was councilman on Lake- wood Youth Day, emceed at college advisement night, initated the Better Dress Campagin and worked on the all night dance committee. He took part in many other activities while at Lakewood, he was president of his junior class, worked on the junior prom, was a member ot scholarship society and lettered in gymastics. He has many fine qualities which seem to put him well on the road to success. Next year Dave hopes to at- tend Annapolas and major in engine- ering. Organizations 29
