For possessing outstanding scholarship and leadership qualities as well as a promise of future service to society all Awards winners received' certificates of achievement. Some of the winners received additional honors and a chance at the 532,100 in cash awards presented by the bank. Some 2400 Southern California students received certificates, 800 were given gold trophies, and 252 won cash awards. There were i2 awards of Sl,00O as well as others ranging down to a group of S25 awards. Other Lakewood seniors not pictured who won awards this year are Alan Limpo, Richard Murray, Paul Jacobs and Ron Kawszynski. Beside having acheived excellent grades each ot these honor students have participated in many extra- cirrcular activities and have given freely of their time and effort tor betterment ot the school. Beverly Miller LANCERS TAKE BAND REVIEW AWARDS In this year's All Western Band Review Lakewood's Jim Pintus and Beverly Miller took two of the highest honors.
