HE CAME AMONG is . Page 2 He gave a happy greeting to welcoming crowds in 1962 as Press Editor Louis B. Seltzer attends John Fitzgerald Kennedy's life and purpose will go down in the annals of time as an inspiration to the peoples of the world. He was a spark of light in a very dark world- surely no country ever faced more gigantic problems than ours in the last few years, and surely no one could have been a more able leader in those times of crisis than was he. His deep faith in the American ideals was his strength in the battle against tyranny, poverty, disease, and war itself. He unselfishly accepted the grave responsibilities imposed on him as President. This man possessed the qualities of greatness. His youthful vigor appealed to the young in heart, the stout in spirit. He was willing to pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship. The price he paid was a high one, yet he died for his country and for the freedom of man--knowing that here on earth, God's work was truly his own. Now his work must be taken up by the heirs of that first revolution, for the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans, Together we must explore the stars, conquer the deserts, and encourage the arts and commerce. In our hands will rest the final success or failure of our course. Let us not fail to heed his call, as the Trumpet Summons Us to a New Frontier.
