Page 20 Girls taking home management decorate miniature rooms All aspects of homemaking from meals to budgets are studied in home economics. In home management, girls consider the im- portance of both cost and comfort in the selection, decoration, and care of the home. General home economics takes up the care of children and of the sick. Foods, a prac- tical course for all, includes units not only on nutrition and the selection and prepara- tion of basic foods but also on foreign dishes and entertaining. Beginning clothing classes make simple blouses and dresses while ad- vanced classes construct coats and suits from patterns which they alter to fit their own needs. For those interested in handwork, handicrafts gives instruction in weav- ing, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery.
