Language and Social Studies Classes Give The peoples and the nations that we do not know we dislike and fear. Studying the language of a people teaches one not only their language but also their history and culture. Out of such broad understanding of the character of na- tions will come cooperation and peace. The Language Department courses in Latin furnish historical background, while French, Spanish, and German classes give skill in speaking and ac- quaint us with the modern nations.
