Senior Class Prophecy Whxle lookmg through a stack of letters I came upon some from my fellow classmates telhng of what they had accomplmshed smce graduatmon day As I read the letters I could pmcture themr accomplxshments Luctlle McKinley who had always wxshed to become leader of an orchestra had fulfxlled her wxsh She was seated at a pmano mn the Blue Room of the Waldorf Astorxa playing the latest hlt song w1th her orchestra She was devotxng her spare tlme to teaching piano and lnstrumental lessons The next vlsxon that came mto my mmd was that of a semx truck rolhng down the hxghway toward the home of Mr and Mrs Harold Nachtel and fammly As he pulled mto the drlveway of h1s beaut1ful home h1s wlfe the former Marvalene Hostetler and two chlldren came runnmg out to meet hlm I-Ie dldn get to see them very often because of h1s long trxps As I look farther on I see a beautxful ranch house A Cad1llac convertxble had Just pulled xnto the drweway of the Leo W Tope ranch house Leo and h1s famlly had Just returned from a wonde rful vacatlon to settle back down to lus Job of tramxng race horses Another letter was from Nade Gmdlesberger who has also fulfxlled hxs promxse to become the head of a big lndustry ts the presxdent of the Alrcraft Company of Cleveland Ohxo I see hxm s1tt1ng behmd a large desk with two or three telephones on It He IS dlctatlng a letter to one of h1s secretarles He ms also very mv h 1nterested 1n the baseball games Wade takes h1s famlly to many of the game and act1v1t1es that are goxng on at the arena In Cleveland As I look mto another one of these letters I can ptcture Kathy Lemon hurrymg down a long corrxdor m one of the huge hospxtals m New York C1ty She lS now one of the head nurses there In her spare t1me she 15 carmg for her famlly Just then I heard the clock str1ke twelve I came back to my own problems wtth a start Smce graduatxng from Kent State Umversmty 1n 56 I had taken a wonderful opportumty to teach speech and dramatxcs at McK1n1ey I-hgh School 1n Canton One of my students had won 1n a Speech Tournament at Columbus and now she had a chance to go to the National Contest But now I must read one more letter before gomg to bed Thls letter was from Dlck Crawford who xs now adjusted to a bachelor s lxfe xn one of hrs recently deslgned homes m Hershey Pennsylvama He was enter talmng the members of the Architectural School for Des1gn1ng They are planmng a modern school bulldmg for Lakevxlle Ohio Charlene Anderson a Q n 1 1 Q ' Q 0 . , . s I n r I . . . . , , . t a 1 0 4 n , . . . l 1 , . u a LJ Q 3 . 1 Q Q n o . . . . . . , 0 I c a s . , . . .
