Woman of Vision Look not mournfully into the past, it will not return. Wisely improve the present and go forth to meet the future without fear and with a courageous heart. These, her own words, well describe the life of Mrs. Charline Gry- giel, the director of nurses at Lake View Memorial Hospital and its school of nursing until july of 1971 when she died after an extended illness. Under Mrs. Grygiel's direction, the school of nursing enlarged its educational program and became more liberal in its attitude. Mrs. Grygiel wisely set forth a goal of national accreditation for the school. With her guidance, and after many long hours of hard work, the school received that award only a month before her death. Always she looked to the years ahead, predicting and preparing for the educational needs of her nurses and the health care of those they served. She was a lady with vision, but more importantly, Mrs. Gry- giel was a woman with the conviction and strength to make those visions a reality. 3

Lake iew Physicians Men and women to whom God has given the special talents of car- ing, comforting, and healing--men and women who dedicate these abilities unselfishly to the needs of the people they serve. We as nursing students are preparing, in these three years of educa- tion, to be an integral part of their work by functioning side by side with the doctor, educating his patients, implementing his orders, sharing his knowledge, and most importantly, using these functions to save lives, prevent disease, ease pain, and give hope to those we serve.
