We are most grateful for the assistance of Cindy Heiman, Sue Schaecher, Jeff Schu- maker, Jean Czuba, Kevin Bernt, Cheryl Wieser and Ron Mikosch from the Scotus Central Catholic Chapter of the National Honor Society. Membership in the Honor Society is ex- clusive, but Scholarship, Leadership, Ser- vice and Character are not. The very pur- pose of the Honor Society is to recognize and promote these ideals throughout the entire student body. Marching Band Along with their fine performances at the football shows, the marching Vikings were kept busy with parades and field marching contests. Their street marching included the Schuyler Labor Day parade and the Harvest of Harmony parade at Grand Island. In field marching competition, the Vikings received a one rating along with a trophy at the Grand Island marching contest and a 2-plus at the indoor Pershing Marching Fes- tival in Lincoln. The 1974-75 basketball season closed with a 9-12 record. With only two lettermen returning, inexperienced play was directly responsible for the loss of five or six close games. Coach Geraghty expressed satisfaction with the team's determined efforts against talented teams such as Seward, Central City, and Scotus. Looking forward to next year. Coach Geraghty will again be faced with varsity in- experience at most positions, but he expects a great deal of help from a very talented freshmen team. Rick Thomas, Coach Geraghty, Darrell Rickert. Darrell's honors were: 1st Team All Platte College Tournament, and All Husker Conference. He was also selected player of the week by the Lincoln Star. Darrell averaged more points (19.5 than any other player in Lakeview his- tory with the exception of Steve McWilliams. RICK THOMAS: Rick is probably the best college prospect I have ever coached. He has all the tools to make a great college guard. Rick's many honors include: MVP in the Husker Conference and Honorable Mention All State, 1st Team All Husker Conference Tour- nament, All Husker Conference, 2nd Team All Platte College Tournament. Among the topics of discussion before the 8:00 appointment were small jokes, how does my hair look, what are you gonna do after graduation, remember to write, I know my hat's going to fall off, don't forget and remember the time ... 134 You Want To Go, Be What You Want To Be.
