Biology stu- dents were concerned with living organisms. The composition ot sub- stances, and the transformations which they undergo, were consid- ered in chemistry. The Commercial Department was important to students planning a business career. Skills could be gained in typing, shorthand, bookkeeping, and office practice. Two years of training were available in typing and shorthand for all students seeking of- fice work immediately following graduation. Book- keeping and Office Practice were valuable in that they gave students the opportunity to familiarize themselves with modern office methods and equip- ment. Iudy A. Weisgerber, B.S. Western Michigan University Shorthand I, II Office Practice 19 Sandy Kent and Polly Richardson rolled out mimeographed material.
