Exchange Qtudents RIGHT: KATERINA SPASOVA: Keti, eighteen, was our exchange student this year from Yugoslavia. She has only one sister, Vasilna, who is twenty years old. She has been staying this past year with Mr. and Mrs. Milford Molitor. Her classes this year that she participated in were Physics, Government, American Literature, U.S. History, and Analytical Geometry, with the latter as her favorite. Her thoughts on the United States were, 1 like U.S. very much, mostly because it’s very different from my country and there are things to be learned. She stated that our educational system is different from her country because they don't have their choice of subjects there. Every year they have eleven to fifteen subjects, mostly natural and social sciences. The students stay in one class and the teachers do the switching. Keti left the U.S. on August 9th. LEFT: EDDA BINDER: Edda, seventeen, was our exchange student this year from Germany. She stayed this past year with Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Warner from Howard City. She comes from a family of six, she has two brothers and one sister. From the selection of classes she took this year, she found Government to be her favorite. She stated In the course of the year, I got to love the people here and understand them. In their basic character they are not different from other people. I feel that I have found a home here in Lakeview. ” She found our high school easier than hers. She enjoyed choir, operetta, and French club while she was here. 6

This year we nominated for our King and Queen candidates: Alan Charnley, Bob Smyth, Gary Nielsen, Markay Moon, Rosemary Robinson, and Sharyl Winters. Alan Charnley and Markay Moon became our King and Queen. We then sponsored the Christmas Dance Elves Escapade. An- other Activity was Government Day, Jan. 7 at M.C.C. At another class meeting we decided that our class color was Purple, our class song We've Only Just Begun, our class motto Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of our lives and the flower - the white rose. Caps and gowns were ordered having the color purple with white tassels. Then the last activity we participated in as Seniors together was Graduation. Which was on June 11, 1971 on Kos Field.
