Representing the student body at football and basketball games, the cheerleaders help to promote school spirit with their peppy cheers. Tryouts for the varsity and J.V. squads are held in the spring. The girls are judged on co¬ ordination, cheering ability, personality, appearance, and smile. Once the girls make the cheerleading squads, their work is far from finished--it has just begun. The girls practice twice a week, and also during the summer. Also, during the summer, they attend a cheerleading camp for four days. Here, they learn new cheers and trade old ones with cheerleaders from other schools. 7
