The cafeteria is a very important part of the total school program. An average of about 550 students are served daily at Lakeview and another 175 are served daily at Trufant and Coral. The students are charged $1.25 for five meal tickets or thirty cents a meal. The total receipts for the sale of lunches is well over $30,000 per year. Tribute to a Familiar Person This year the La Chatte Staff chose to dedicate the yearbook to Mrs. Gladys Kempton. She has lived in this community for 45 years, taught school at Halls Cor¬ ners for 3 1 2 years, and has worked in our school cafeteria for the past 17 years. In honor of her service and retirement, this year, we dedicate to her this book, filled with the students who have thrived under her warm smile and pleasant personality.
