Police are investigating the incident. Starts Work The initial meeting of publi- cation and reproduction com- mittee of the Niles Bicenten- nial met with Chet Stout, bicentennial chairman, and Mrs. Catherine Campbell at the formerls office this week. The purpose of the commit- tee is to construct and type materials and information to be used to supplement the Niles history book. It is one of numerous committees as- signed to work on some 80 subject items on the sug- gested list of history making events in the community. The committee is prepared to meet with persons and groups who can supply in- formation on schools, rail- roads, pottery works, ice cream wagons, grocery stores, prices and other items of historical interest. In terested parties can contact Mrs. Campbell at 652-3336 or Mr. Stout at 652-1704. Other committee members are Fred Smith Jr., Diane Lobaugh. Guy and Kay Marino. Harry Rose, Mrs. Pauline Eppreight, Mrs. Rob- ert Brogna, Mrs. Helen OtConnell, Mrs. Alfreda Rob- inson, and Mrs. McMahon. Any others who can help are requested to join. A plan to move the Bascom elementary library to a regular classroom, was also taken under advisement. Principal Warren Lawrence has been seeking larger li- brary quarters for several years, as the larger portion of the library has been housed in individual classrooms due to lack of space and shelving. To Decide Projects The board instructed the administration and the busi- ness manager to compile a list of priorities concerninq the renovation of buildings and grounds ' projects that should be completed in the next 12 months with the men. ey coming from the lvmill permanent improvement levy. Supt. Everling told the board the four-week work- shop that follows the in-ser- vice program may not be held this year due to the economic situation. The decision will be made by May. The board accepted the res- ignation of Mrs. Eleanor Ken- ny, who is retiring from the home economics department of the high school at the close of the school year. Mrs. Ken- ney has been teaching for 22 years, including 16 years in the LaBrae district. Mrs. Bonnie Roddewig, who is on leave of absence from the home economics department, will replace Mrs. Kenney. The board employed James Franks and Larry Yoho as custodial maintenance per- sonnel under the Emergency Unemployment Act. A11 wages and fringe benefits will be paid by the federal govern- ment. Lowell McVey, Newton Falls was employed as a sub- stitute bus driver, Mrs. Sylvia Markopoulas was hired to re- place Mrs. Donna Rood who will be on leave of absence for the rest of the school year. Couple Found Dead i The bodies of a Soughington area man and woman, found late Wednesday morning, in a' parked car on Parks-West Rd., in Mesopotamia Town- ship, were identified as Rob- ert Harmon, 20, of BarclayMesserley Rd. and 19- year-old Mrs. Carol Chalker, both from Southington. The deaths were ruled ac- . cidental by Trumbull County Coroner, Dr. Joseph Sudimack Jr. He said that the deaths were a result of carbon monoxide poisoning. Trumbull sheriffls deputies said this morning that the bodies were discovered by a nearby resident, who was driving by, and investigated the scene after hearing the autols engine running. The bodies were then taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Chalker are pending at the Mallory Memoril Home, Garrettsville.
