Our varsity Cross Country team felt the sweat, the aching muscles, the long hours of running-aloneeto do their best. And they did. Each hour of running paid off in the end. They knew the competition. And what is an existence if it does nothing? A nonexistence. So you try until your muscles ache and your head hurts and the odds are severely against you. You are a person who has been out there; youive felt the heat, and you walked into it. Sure, you got burned, lots of times, but you didntt run away before you did. Building a good football team is like building a mountain; you must start at the bottom and work up. Itts pain, ifs misery, and sometimes you feel the Hush of shame. But who feels it? The players, the fans, the coaches, the cheerleaders-the beginning of Lakeviewis mountain. We try and we try and well never stop trying until we reach the top. Everyone felt the stressethe players, the coach, the fans. The walk from the dugout to the diamond got longer and longer. Then when all seemed lost, the team rallied and, with a show of future power, defeated Newton Falls. Perhaps this year wasnlt the best, but what the players learned of teamwork and never giving up will undoubtedly show in future records. Top Left, First Row, 1. to r.: B. Theis. R. Shriver, T.
