The FFA officers for this year were David Houston, Trea- surer; Barry Clayton, Sentinel; Joey Sloan, Chaplain; Jerry Reed, Vice-President; Andy Kearney, Parliamentarian; Bobby Nancy, President; Eddie Hall, Representative; and Johnny Harris, Secretary. FFA had a monthly social calendar which included horse- back riding, skating, movies, and bowling. The group honored National FFA Week by giving pens and notebooks to the teach- ers. They also erected a poster in the cafeteria. The group took field trips to see the automated sawmills at Varnell and pulpwood mill at Rome, Georgia. The year was concluded with the annual Parent-Son Banquet. Awards were presented to stu- dents for outstanding work in different fields and the 1975-76 officers were elected. 29

Library The library's list of activities is a long one. To increase know- ledge, the club toured the Chat- tanooga Public Library and Dalton Junior College Library. At Chris- tmas, the club gave a book to every child at Bonny Oaks School. In addition, the club had a car- wash in October, a Christmas party, and a cookout. The Math Club participated in the Math-Science Fair at school and the Chattanooga Regional Science, placing 1st and 3rd in the Junior Math Division. It had a field trip to Interstate Life Computer Depart- ment. At Christmas, it collected toys for needy familities. The club had several parties which in- cluded horseback riding and swimming. French The French and Bible clubs share the same sponsor, Mrs. Foote, so they naturally do many activities together. In December, the clubs together had a dinner at the Lake Vista Methodist Church. In April, the two groups had a fifties skating party at Fort Lake. As their final activity, the clubs had a cookout at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Foote.
