All students who take art auto- matically become members of the art club. Besides the annual trip to the Atlanta Museum, the club had a display at the Arts and Crafts Fair at Eastgate Center and sold its works to the public. Two students. Rusty Snyder and Diane Fitzgerald, participated in the Governor's Hon- ors Program. Along with the usual art projects, students this year studied macrami, pottery, and photography. 21

The Science Club was one of the most active clubs that LFO had this year. The Science Club en- gaged in many activities, includ- ing hiking, horseback riding and picnics. They went cave explor- ing and rapelling, and traveled far from home to visit Fern- back Science Center, Oak Ridge, and Huntsville Space Center. In its spare time the Science Club went skating, washed a lot of cars, and became pretty good at pool hustling. For such a serious- minded, hardworking group, they managed to have many good times together. Science Club Officers: Glen Austin, Vice-President; Kitty Walker, President; Darlene Dobbins, Secretary-Treasurer. 22
