Forward, onward, upward, striving We bear our standard bold. May we now our vows renew Hail to thee, Lakeview Chorus Alma Mater! Alma Mater! Sons and daughters we Ever loyal, faithful, true Hail to thee, Lakeview It is with great pride that we dedicate this edition of the Warrior to MISS STELLA CALLAWAY, our friend and helper. Miss Callaway, who had always shown great in- terest in our activities and growth as informed citizens of good char- acter, has in many ways won the love and admiration of each of us. One ship drives east, and another west. With the self-same winds that blow; 'Tis the set of the sails and not the gales, That decides the way they go. CHARACTER OF THE HAPPY WARRIOR Who is the happy Warrior? Who is he That every man in arms should wish to be? —It is the generous Spirit, who, when brought Among the tasks of real life, hath wrought Upon the plan that pleased his boyish thought: Whose high endeavors are an inward light That makes the path before him always bright: MR. CLASSES GENE HARRIS NOLAN RICHARDSON MARVA JORDAN JANICE ROBBINS President Vice President Secretary Treasurer This senior class entered the school together bouncing, laughing, and doing most anything fresh- men would do. They went through the years bearing the minor hardships such as getting up early in the morning, facing Mrs. Baldwin and Mrs. Griffith first thing in the morning in their senior year, senior English and Literature, and many other things. In their junior year, they gave the seniors of that year a banquet, and the next year, they were given one by the juniors. They had their Senior Play, which was a success. They worked very hard for their trip to Washing- ton, D. C. and went there June 4. They went through Class Night, Baccalaureate Sermon, and Graduation successfully and then went on their way. HELEN CHRISTIAN There's mischief lurking in her pleasant smile. BARBARA CRABTREE Two girls can keep a secret if one is dead. THOMAS CROSS One boy is more trouble than a dozen girls. BILL DANIELS Teachers, books, and classes are his only objec- tions to school. t Don't worry, Chorles, the big oak was a little nut first. PAT FROST A careful student, careful not to overdo. GEORGE GILSTRAP He loves one — but which one? GENE HARRIS One of those all around boys so rarely found. LAMAR H LUG AN Lazy, slow, and uncon- cerned, he went to school and sometimes learned. JACK HENDERSON Full of fun and mischief too, likes doing things he shouldn't do. JOYCE HILL Behind those eyes there lies much mischief. MARGARET HUTTON We are growing serious, and let me tell you, that is the next thing to being dull. VERA JOY KILGORE Very bright, far from dumb, and in every pie she has her fun. JUNE PASS Happy and from care I'm free. Why can't they all be content like me? DON PEDIGO He takes advantage of Freedom of Speech. HAROLD POPE I ain't lazy — I just haven't found a suitable occupa- tion yet. HAROLD PRINCE Athletic, friendly, and kind. Another like him you'll nev- er find. PATSY POPE Here is a girl with a cute little grin, chuck full of fun and neat as a pin. NOLAN RICHARDSON A gentleman makes no noise. r CYNTHIA ROBERSON She looks like an angel, acts like one too, but you never can tell what an angel will do. MARTHA ROBINSON Born for success, it seems; she acts, not dreams. BARBARA STEVISON Modesty seldom resides in a heart that is not enriched with nobler virtues. PAT TORBETT Don't let your studies in- terfere with your educa- tion. JANE TUCKER Her disposition, her pleas- ant smile, have won her friends for many a mile. CLIFFORD WALKER Unassuming and quiet is he, yet a second Lincoln he might be. MYRNA WARREN Don't take life too serious- ly; you'll never get out of it alive anyway. CARROLL WHITMIRE As industrious as Rip Van Winkle. YVONNE WYATT A giggle, a dash, a shriek, that's Yvonne. JUDY WITT There are some people who can't help being nice. CAROLYN WALL Beware, I may do some- thing sensational yet! VERA KILGORE CARL LEE CO - EDITORS SPONSOR MRS. LOIS H. B ALDWIN MR. C. FRED WILLIAMS I have observed with much pride and joy the constant growth and steady progress our school and community has made during the past few years. It has been pleasant to have a part in this progress, growth, and development. However, as the seasons change, so our lives and professions also change. Since I am at this time preparing to leave this school, and a profession that has in- fluenced my life so greatly, it is with the realization that I am giving up much and that I shall sincerely miss the vigor of youth, with its radiance and enthusiasm, and the friendships that belong to the high school age. However, I hove accumulated, through the years, countless memories that will forever linger with me as I continue to give of my best to the young people of my home county of Catoosa. Within a few days we shall move from your school and community, but our love, interest, and best wishes for you will linger on in your midst. May the class of nineteen fifty-six make a record for rich experiences and outstanding achievement unsurpassed in the history of this school, and may God's Richest Blessings be with you now and always. Most sincerely yours, Mr. C. Fred Williams INS TOMMY KELLERHALS STERLING WOMACH JUDY PARRISH CALVIN GRANT JUDY JORDAN President Vice President Secretary Treasurer Program Chairman This class has passed through many wonderful years together and worked furiously on the Junior Senior Banquet. There are souls that are pure and true; Then give to the world the best you have. And the best will come back to you. Give love, and love to your life will flow, A strength in your utmost need; Have faith, and a score of hearts will show Their faith in your work and deed. Give truth, and your gift will be paid in kind; And honor will honor meet, And the smile which is sweet will surely find A smile that is just as sweet. Give pity and sorrow to those who mourn; You will gather in flowers again The scattered seeds from your thought outborne, Though the sowing seemed in vain. GENE HARRIS NOLAN RICHARDSON MARVA JORDAN JANICE ROBBINS President Vice President Secretary Treasurer As We Bring Our Book Of Memories To A Close, We Now Bid A Fond Adieu To Dear Old Lakeview High And Wish A “Bon Voyage” To Those We Leave To Take Our Place And May We Leave For Them This Noble Thought... “I Shall Pass Through This World But Once. If, Therefore, There Be Any Kindness I Can Show, Or Any Good Thing I Can Do, Let Me Do It Now; Let Me Not Defer It Or Neglect It, For I Shall Not Pass This Way A- gain”. So we boarded our showboa . And day after day We visited our supporters Along the way— Who gave us ads For our annual to pay.
