VARSITY CHEERLEADERS This school year the cheerleaders were busy do- ing more than their regular duties, which include, cheer- ing at pep rallies and games, promoting school spirit, and decorating lockers and halls. They were also busy this summer, all of the girls con- ducted LCHS cheerleader clinic in August for elemen- tary school girls interested in cheerleading. Among all the competi- tions they were in, they received The Award of Ex- cellence as they did last year. lana Brown and Sherry McNamara were nominated for All-American cheerleader. They came home knowing that they represented their school well! I if E Y ludy Vank performs her award winning performance in the Cabaret Show, Sherry McNamera is always ready to pep up the crowd. One of the jobs of head cheerleader is leading cheers. The football players really know how to make the cheerleaders nervous. Varsity cheerleaders Kim Faulkner and Melissa Carlock show their school spirit ing every Pep rally.

IUNIOR VARSITY CHEERLEADERS The' lunior Varsity Cheerleaders, sponsored by Gladys Pickey, promote school spirit, boost morale, help organize pep rallies, hang signs in the halls before games and cheer for foot- ball and basketball games. This summer the lunior Var- sity Cheerleaders went to a cheerleading camp held at the University of Houston. There they Worked hard and were nominated for All-American Cheerleader and came back recipient of the title. The cheerleaders also held a lakeyiew Centen- nial High School Cheerlead- ing clinic in August fo elementary and middle school girls interested in cheerleading.
