A s ... Q W Girls Varsity Soccer The Girls Varsity soccer team, under the coaching of Coach Skinner, finished the season with a 0-10 record. Even though we lost our games, we were only losing by one or two points, remarks Coach Skinner. The most ex- citing games throughout the season was their 2-4 trail behind rival North Garland, and a O-1 tag to Garland High. The 1 team's outstanding players were offensive leader Katie Tabor and defensive leaders Kristi Tillery - Fullback, and Annette Bailey - Halfback, and Tatia Wood - Sweeper. l'The team made remarkable progress, says Coach Skinner, wand the girls really began to work as a unit by the end of the season. ,W 'S Annette Bailey, 34, throws the ball in, Patriot team member gets her knee wrapped before the game

l.V. Soccer The Lakeview l.V. Soccer Team portrayed an outstanding offense. Though they finished with an overall record of 3-3, they scored a total of 14 points this season, Coach Garvin is lery proud of the team and aid that they displayed a positive attitude. The team wever got down on each other and played with much courage and winning spirit. T Some of the high points of :he lunior Varsity were the two yictories over South Garland - 4-0 and 4-2. The Patriots also defeated Mesquite by the score of 4-1. High scores were Scott Blankenship, lon Bird, Preston Looney, Camden Stone, and Sean Faulkner. Another outstanding player was Brian Porter who did a ter- rific job defensively as well as on offense. The accomplish- ment of the junior Varsity establishes a prominent future for the Lakeview l.V. Gymnastics Lakeview Gymnastics Team flips to another successful geasonl Lakeview girls gymnastics team led by all-arounder and All-American Tammy Mowery, once again completed a season that Patriots can be proud of, Other all-arounders rvho contributed greatly to the team's success were ireshman Melissa Stringer, Sophomore Kim Christian, lunior vlarsha Merington, and senior Sharon Muse. Coach Meunz contributes this year's success to excep- ional talent and depth. l'This year we've got six or seven girls that we can put up on each event. Which keeps the team competitive. Some of our first year girls have really pushed the older girls for their spots in the line up. Some of our younger athletes like Cynthia Fryar, Cindy haris, lennifer Herald, Cindy Herald, Stacy Crossley, and ina Anger will develop into a fine competitive team in the fears to come. While the girls were busy winning their meets,-the young nexperienced Lakeview boys' team was developing into a iuture state-championship team. Coach Meunz says: Our team was made up almost entirely of first year gymnasts who were either freshmen or sophomores. These boys im- proved tremendously during the season. Dutstanding all-around athletes who competed this year ivere Alan McGrath, Stephen Schneider, Doug Brennan, vtike Strange, and leff Garmon. The team score improved over 50 points this season. This tan be greatly attributed to hard work and dedication from athletes such as Alan Buck, Doug Lee, Barry Carlson, Chad mith and Aldo Blackstock. Coach Meunz was really enthusiastic about the potential n this year's and next year's gymnastics team. With more End more people trying out for gymnastics the program will ecome the state powerhouse. Thanks to all the Seniors for all the long hours of hard fvork and dedication to the team and good luck to next fear's team. We hope it is an all-around winning season! Q ta Q.
