Labor Day, Our Day of Rest The Labor Day Parade was a festive occasion com- memorating the U.S. Labor Force. Once again, Lakeview led the parade showcasing its fine organizations such as our Band, Sweethearts, Liberty Dolls, Cheerleaders, and our mascots, the Minutemen. Our school symbol, The Liberty Bell, also was in attendance to stir up Patriot Pride. This year there were many girls competing for the title of 1985 Miss Garland. Among these contestants were several from Lakeview that showed their true Blue and,Gold Pride in competition: Annette Baily, Pam lopffin, Lori Pallet, and ludy Vank, and Sherri White. ludy Vank was later crowned 1985 Miss Garland showing that Lakeview Centen- nial is a home of winners. As the day ended and peo- ple got ready to go back to their homes, the true spirit of home, the true spirit of the Labor Day was instilled in us all. The elite of Garland on their way to the parade

Everyone's eyes were A little break dancing before the pep rally on the cheerleaders while the band led us in the Lakeview Fight Song.
