The 50's live For one day out of the year every- body put on their bobby socks, greased back their hair, and stepped back into the 50's. This year students bopped to the sounds of Dash Riprock and the Dragons, which set the mood for the rest of the day. People could be heard humming tunes like Help Me, Rhonda, Peggy Sue, and 'Blue Suede Shoes as they walked down the halls. 50's day was quite a success show- ing that the 50's still live on, in spirit at least. 511 The band plays Christopher Cross. The bass added much tothe band. A little music helps The tradition of concerts as school assemblies continued this year with the appearances of bands such as the Kim Yougren Band and Free Fare. The bands were invited to Lakeview by the Student Council to provide a break in the regular routine. The Kim Youngren Band made the first appearance, and for a slight fee students could listen to hits like Ticket to Ride and Lonesome Loser. Free Fare's first concert was in the gym and the admission was free. They played such songs as Never Been Any Reason, Free Bird and Celebration. The concert was highlighted with skits on Star Wars and Guitarzan. Their second concert was an even- ing performance at which admission was charged. Requests for the band.
