T3-4 Classy couple. Saturday night fever! 'Fantasy' ends great week The theme of the 1980 Homecom- ing Dance was Fantasy under the Big Top. Students had a chance to win prizes at a game booth, eat cot- ton candy and popcorn, and have their pictures taken with circus fig- ures. The Coronation ceremonies began at 8:30 with the presentation of the Homecoming court. Then Queen Amy Langford was crowned and took her seat upon the throne. Freedom serenaded her and she and her date danced the first dance. The Home- coming court and their dates then joined in dancing among hundred of falling balloons. The ceremonies kicked off an eve- ning of dancing and later many went out to eat at restaurants around Dal- las. Students will do anything to get out of class. so t ga 31 Q A little more to the left. A Scholastic Christmas Carole Twas the week before Christmas And all through the school, Students were lying around trying to look cool. We were asleep, all snug in our desks, With visions of winning door decorating contests. When out in the hall there arose such a clatter, We sprang from our desks to see what was the matter, When what to our wondering eyes should appear, But foreign language carolers drawing near. We ran to the door so lively and quick, Forgetting our schoolwork, our notebooks, and our Bics. To the end of the hall these carolers got And around the corner went the whole lot. So we drew in our heads and were turning around, When all of a sudden there came a new sound Of the bell ringing so loud and clear That we knew that the holidays now were here. And as we left we heard someone say: Merry Christmas to y'all, and Happy Holiday!
