It is Home- coming, a week of traditions old and new. Tuesday of this year's Homecom- ing week, students and staff gave Fri- day night's opponent, Highland Park, a Hawaiian Punch by dressing in Hawaiian attire. Wednesday every- one wore warm-up suits to warm up for the Scots. Student Council sponsored a hall decoration contest between the classes. Spirit was high as exes began to return and students dressed in blue and gold and wore hats to promote more spirit for the big game. During the pregame ceremonies that night fans eagerly awaited the announcement of the Homecoming Queen. Soon the tension was broken and Amy Langford was crowned the 1980 Homecoming Queen. T3-4 Classy couple. Saturday night fever! 'Fantasy' ends great week The theme of the 1980 Homecom- ing Dance was Fantasy under the Big Top. Students had a chance to win prizes at a game booth, eat cot- ton candy and popcorn, and have their pictures taken with circus fig- ures. The Coronation ceremonies began at 8:30 with the presentation of the Homecoming court. Then Queen Amy Langford was crowned and took her seat upon the throne. Freedom serenaded her and she and her date danced the first dance. The Home- coming court and their dates then joined in dancing among hundred of falling balloons. The ceremonies kicked off an eve- ning of dancing and later many went out to eat at restaurants around Dal- las. The whole evening was considered a successful climax to a week of Homecoming activities that made Homecoming 1980 the best yet. 40 Activities Wg Q N fn'-5, f- -. f--'il' 1 :- The carnival atmosphere brought a lot of clowns
