Magazine Drive representative Mr. Floyd Droschershild reveals the secret of selling. Raising Funds This year, the Student Council held their annual magazine drive from September 11 to September 25. After two weeks of hard sell and sweat, a total of 88,234.22 was earned. A representative of the drive gave a pep talk to students, along with a few helpful hints on how to sell to friends, neighbors and relatives. An added incentive was the prizes given to top salespersons. Student Council sponsors many activities during the year, such as the spirit dances, Homecoming and the Centennial Ball. Just Relaxing Even with a hectic school schedule, students could find a little time to relax. Homework and school activities had their place in the daily routine, but fun and recreation could always be squeezed in. Some found it at the State Fair or at the movies. Then there was that great American past time, working on the old car. Some people released pent up energy with a good work out in the gym or by playing a game of basketball or football with friends. Of course, for many Lakeview students spare time meant a chance to sit down and rest, it only for a moment. 20 Activities Alb Haskell Tilson and John Carroll check out the brakes.
