l l 4 LCHS THE band marches proudly in the Labor Day Parade. P1 E ' K 5 nl Q The cheerleaders found a unique way of riding through this parade. The Minutemen and Patriot Robert Barr seem to be enjoying themselves Pats Shine in Jubilee The Jaycee Jubilee and Labor Day Parade are a Garland tradition. Lakeview was the first entry in this year's parade, which was the largest in Garland's history. It broke records for size, attendance and participation. Lakeview delighted spectators 18 Activities with performances by the cheerleaders, Minutemen, flag corps, band and drill teams. ' The Jubilee activities climaxed Labor Day night with Lakeview senior Carol Johnston being named Miss Garland. Lisalee Thatch and Debbie Welk were finalists in the contest. The roller coaster at Fair Park is always a big attraction at the Fair. fi .,3U K .,..f:-f-'- 't5fg-w.+., . -, Q ' 1 NN 'L A friendly game of basketball eases the tensions, A few minutes offg then back to the old grind. Just Relaxing Even with a hectic school schedule, students could find a little time to relax. Homework and school activities had their place in the daily routine, but fun and recreation could always be squeezed in. Some found it at the State Fair or at the movies. Then there was that great American past time, working on the old car. Some people released pent up energy with a good work out in the gym or by playing a game of basketball or football with friends. Of course, for many Lakeview students spare time meant a chance to sit down and rest, it only for a moment. 20 Activities Alb Haskell Tilson and John Carroll check out the brakes. Patricia Dryburgh is about to take a chance at the Fair.
